Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho...

It's off to school I go! I'm picking up where I left off after baby #3, to finish my Early Childhood Education degree. Now I wonder with all the hubbub surrounding Santa's token "Ho Ho Ho!" phrase being offensive, if the dwarves shall have to sing new lyrics? Were they somehow inferring that Snow White was a "ho?" She did live with 7 little men. One has to wonder.

See, I really need to give my mind something intellectual to wrap itself around. You may have heard of "pregnancy brain," the condition in which short-term memory somehow doesn't perform adequately during a pregnancy (AND NO I'M NOT SUFFERING FROM THIS!) but being a full-time, stay-at-home-mom for most of the years of my children's lives has done a number on my brain I assure you. I don't have to think much farther than elementary homework help and "what can I make for dinner using extra chicken breasts and rice that I cooked up along with last night's dinner to prevent us from having to run to McDonald's for last-minute dinner because we are doing a last minute house cleaning right before Daddy is supposed to walk through the door?" That's about as complicated as it gets.

I have deadlines. I have projects. I have reading. Quite a bit of it. I get to drive to the school 3 times a week, ALONE just blaring whatever music my heart desires while I sing along. Yep I sing along and I don't care if you drive by and see me doing it. I do great drums on the steering wheel. Somehow this all makes me MORE efficient than usual. There isn't laundry waiting in the dryer to be fluffed and folded. The sink is surprisingly nearly empty, boasting only dishes from tonight's sweet & sour chicken & jasmine rice. Dinner tomorrow is chicken divan. Look ma, no slacking!
