Mother's Day Pledge
Mother's Day, while commercialized, is still at the heart a genuine time for children and mothers to reflect on their special relationship. Handmade gifts are about the sweetest thing; an acknowledgement of a mother's special role in the life of her child. Yeah, I know that without the urging of a teacher I'd be less likely to receive one of them but it really is about the thought they put into it once the ball is rolling.
Weston brought home a Mother's Day Pledge paper rolled up like a scroll. It says "As my gift to you for Mother's Day, I promise to..."
#5 Not to fight with Tyler and not make Connor mad.
#4 Not to do sound effects.
#3 Make hot dogs and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
#2 Do all the chores in the house for video games.
Of course I saved the best for last!
#1 Worship you.
Yep, that's what it says word for word! From the heart of an 8 yr. old. Too funny! Something I'll keep a long time. And wouldn't you know there was an addendum as I was unrolling it- "Mom, you can only do one of these a day and you have to cross them off after."
