Jeepers Creepers

Heading into the grocery store. Note strange contents of decrepit vehicle beside me- garden hose, old sneakers, newspapers, fast food wrappers, suit from the 70's?, brown paper bags full of whoknowswhat with crumpled tops. The car is tiny but stuffed full of junk. Try to picture the owner. Creepy old man who talks to his cats...his plants...himself.

Go into the grocery store and pick up random miscellany. Return to car. Yep, creepy old guy sitting in vehicle next to me making some up and down motion hand across his chest. Yikers. Buckle C.J. in. Man is staring. I can feel his eyes on me. I glance over and he's grabbed his seatbelt and is motioning for me to put mine on. I sit there a moment waiting for him to leave but he doesn't. But he pulls out behind me. I go towards a far exit in the parking lot. He goes to the nearest one. Weird encounter! I kept thinking maybe it was God sending me an Angel in some unexpected form. Like I'd be in an accident and be glad I was wearing my seatbelt. I always wear my seatbelt. Wasn't close to being in an accident but I wonder why the situation made me feel that way.

It wasn't a wasted trip. I got my groceries. And the best part of the whole outing was running into a couple firefighters picking up a meal. One of them gave me the sexiest smile. I recognized them from when I went on a preschool field trip with my middle son. Is it getting hot in here? Aye aye aye.

Awwww, my Grandpa

My Grandpa has picked up a new hobby. He's always been a handyman, and one of the best you'll find at that. The man can make something out of nothing, and my Grandparents' house is full of customized things he's added on to make life easier for them both. It will honestly be a sad day when I go by there without him inviting me to see his latest project. Lately, he's been picking up old bikes and parts, salvaging, and building "new" bikes from his finds. I can tell he's really into it because each time I stop by there to visit he's talking about bike tires he just acquired from the neighbor or the nice seat he just came across. It's cute because I know he's doing this with my boys in mind, his Great-Grandbabies.

He called me tonight on my cell phone, (which he never does!) and he told me he's got Wes's bike all ready to ride and if I am in their area he can stop by and give it a test run. I wasn't planning to go out there but he was just so cute. He says "It should fit him just right. We'll be here whenever you can stop by and test it." Funny thing is we see them normally 2-3 times a week, but we haven't gotten in a good visit in the last couple weeks. I think he misses them! I guess you know where I'm headed.
