A Tease

Just like the ocean in this picture lapped at my toes and retreated, the weather these days teases me so! I am forced to live painted in summer faux-finish. The night removes all traces of warmth. "February" implies that winter is up to its usual cold tricks. The thermostat is up and down and up again. Why must the sun that warms my bones, my soul...be stolen from me as quickly as it kisses my freckled nose?

I am a product of summer. Tank tops, flip-flops, sandals. Painted toenails peek through. Surf and sand, hand in hand. Sandcastles. Eccentric shades. Road trips. Best friends. Big city. Double scoops. Sexy sundresses turning heads. Wet, tousled hair or sleek ponytail. Soccer on green grass. Working up a sweat is hot. Juicy fruit. Blushing peach. Pink cheeks. New freckles appear. Coconut-scented tanning oil. Glistening skin. Radiant glow. That's just summer sinking in. Now, hurry up and begin!

That's what he said when he discovered what I had done to his car for Valentine's Day! It looked straight out of Cupid Pimped My Ride! I painted sappy nothings on the windows in red. "The brightest red I've ever seen," he said.

It was filled to the brim with red and white balloons. On his steering wheel was a Valentine card I'd had made with our picture on the front. I completed the package with an antenna ball of a little devil/angel. Who knows which one he's going to get tonight?!

Super Bowl XLI

While preparing Jello Jigglers last night, I had a little extra Jello to mold so I dumped it into a random glass for the boys. This is what I had today...

I thought it'd be fun to share what's on my Super Bowl party menu. Super Bowl day is spent with our Dads, my Brother, and my Grandma, so I "cook" for 9. I say cook lightly because it's usually mostly appetizers but this year I'm making a roast to go with it all as a main dish.

The tricky part will be moderation because I'm supposed to play an 8pm soccer game tonight!
